Shannon Mulaire (born October 24, 1981) is a 54-year-old American on-air personality who used to work as a news anchor for NBC10 Boston. Following her departure from the position and subsequently, from NBC10 Boston, we explore everything there is to know about the news anchor, including the reason for her departure and what she has been up to since she left the media outlet.

Shannon Mulaire was born in the early 1980s

Shannon Mulaire was born on October 24, 1981, under the sun sign of Scorpio, in Stanford, Connecticut, United States of America. She belongs to the Caucasian ethnic group and is an American citizen by birth and parental heritage. Speaking of parents, not much is known about the couple who brought Shannon into the world. So far, she has decided to keep helping them maintain the privacy of their identities and what they did for a living to support themselves and Shannon while she was growing up.

We have been let in on a very important detail about a member of Shannon’s extended family. The news anchor’s paternal grandfather was a surgeon who Shannon’s parents always talked about and described to her regularly. She grew to have a special affinity with the man because of how her parents always extolled his qualities, all despite the fact that the said paternal grandfather passed on when she was still very young.

So far, the general assumption is that Shannon Mulaire is the only child of her parents as she has not once mentioned any sibling. This could also be down to the highly unlikely event that she is equally preserving their privacies just as she has with her parents. Whether that is the case or not, we have it on good authority that Shannon Mulaire spent her formative years in Exeter, New Hampshire, where she attended the Phillips Exeter Academy. It’s been revealed that she received her high school diploma from the academy in 1999 after enrolling in 1995.

To further her studies, Shannon was granted admission into Wellesley College to complete a Bachelor of Arts program in Spanish, and Cinema & Media Studies. She graduated cum-laude in the aforementioned course of study in 2003. Thereafter, and from 2004 to 2005, Shannon spent the year completing a Master’s degree program in Broadcast Journalism at Emerson College. Several sources also point to the fact that she received the departmental award for excellence.

Armed with the requisite academic qualifications, and an enviable resume, Shannon felt ready to take on the journalism world. Fort Myers, Florida, was her first stop as she landed a job offer from WFTX – TV. In time, she became a producer and a writer, drawing on her extensive expertise in the Spanish language to effectively discharge her duties. 

At this point, it becomes relevant to mention that while she might have studied the language at an American university, Shannon spent some time in Spain and Mexico, two of the top Spanish-speaking countries in the world to perfect her speaking and translating the language.

Note that Shannon started working at WFTX – TV in June 2006 and left the station in June 2008. Her employment history shows that she picked up the position of a reporter for WTVT – TV in July 2008 and that she held that position until July 2010. A keenly observed fact about Shannon’s first two employments is that she didn’t stay at either position for more than a couple of years.

That timeline dropped to a year when she was recruited by Fox 25 WFXT – TV. She doubled as a General Assignment Reporter and a Fill-in Anchor from August 2010 until her departure just over a year later in January 2012, after switching to the position of Weekend Anchor/Weekday General Assignment Reporter.

Shannon returned to WFXT – TV to serve as Morning Anchor. In this position, Shannon well and truly came into her own as a journalist because the position allowed her the opportunity to meet and interview a good number of very important people. She also laid out the scoop on various trending news stories before vacating the position in 2015. She served as the anchor for Early Today on NBC and First Look on MSNBC.

In April 2016, Shannon Mulaire joined NBC10 Boston as an Evening Anchor where she worked as a news reporter and wrote columns for several other programs. As of the time of writing, it was reported that the highly regarded news anchor left the station in July 2022.

Shannon Mulaire’s reason for leaving NBC10 Boston has not been authenticated

After consistently gracing the airwaves for over 6 years, Shannon suddenly disappeared without a trace from the position she made her own. Initially, no one thought too much of it until a few days turned into several weeks. That enabled the rumor mill to churn out speculations that included the possibility that NBC10 Boston had made some changes and that Shannon had been axed from her position as a result of these changes.

Nothing was confirmed by the station with regards to Shannon’s abrupt departure but the speculations were given more credence when her profile was taken down from the station’s website and also when Shannon adjusted her LinkedIn profile to reflect the fact that she no longer works with NBC10 Boston.

At the moment, no one knows what Shannon is up to, even though she’s probably taking a well-deserved break from a grueling schedule on NBC 10 that spanned 6 years, before embarking on her next job adventure.

She is still active on her social media platforms where she gives her followers updates on her life and career. She also engages in sporting events which she doesn’t fail to share.

Shannon Mulaire is still married to Randy Scott

Shannon Mulaire and Randy Scott exchanged marital vows on April 8, 2010, at the Ritz-Carlton in Naples, Florida. Randy works with ESPN as a news anchor and sportscaster. Her status as a married woman is not one of the things Shannon has lost in recent times despite the wedding ring fiasco that saw her appear on one of her sessions without her wedding ring, something that was simply down to her forgetting to wear it.

Shannon and Randy have been married for over a decade and share three children, sons Jack Scott (b. February 15, 2013), Ryan Scott (b. July 7, 2017), and daughter Emma Scott (b. October 31, 2014).
