Both of her parents are relatively well-known basketball players while both of her brothers play in the American NBA. although he now works in the banking sector, Andrea’s father Guillermo Hernangomez Heredero Heir, who was born in Madrid on March 21, 1963, is a former basketball player.

He never quite made it to the NBA but he played for several years in the Spanish division, turning out for teams such as Real Madrid, Bosco La Coruna, CB Guadalajara, Estudiantes, Cajamadrid, Azuqueca, and Bansander. The woman he married was also a decent basketball player who played for the Spanish national team. Born Margarita Ivonne Geuer Draeger, in Seville, Spain, on May 3, 1966, Adrea Hernangomez’s mother played for Real Canoe Natacian Club and won the Women’s First Division League 3 times with them.

At the moment, she is an English teacher at a high school. Andrea Hernangomez’s parents have watched their three children carry on with what is essentially the family’s basketball heritage, not the least of whom are her two brothers who are currently active players in the NBA. Born May 27, 1994, Hernagomez’s oldest brother Guillermo Gustavo “Willy” Hernangomez Geuer currently plays for the New Orleans Pelicans while having also appeared for teams such as Real Madrid, C. B. Sevilla, and other NBA teams such as the New York Knicks and the Charlotte Hornets.

Andrea’s immediate older brother Juan Alberto Hernangomez Geuer represents the NBA-based Toronto Raptors. Born on September 28, 1995, and nicknamed Juancho, Andrea’s direct older sibling has also represented the Boston Celtics, Utah Jazz, San Antonio Spurs, and the Minnesota Timberwolves amongst others.

During her freshman year with the Fairfield Stags women’s basketball team, she played 31 games and finished with a season-high 6 rebounds. The following year, she played 3 fewer games compared to her 2018-2019 season but her numbers were even more impressive as she recorded an average of 8.7 rebounds. The 2020-2021 season didn’t go so well as she only averaged 5.0 rebounds. Given that she only started 6 of the 16 games she played in, one might argue that those numbers were not so bad.
